Carroll A. Hetrick, 83, of Fremont, OH and formerly of Oak Harbor died Thursday, April 3, 2008 in St Vincent Mercy Medical Hospital, Toledo, OH. He was born on December 24, 1924 in Rice Township, to Abner and Ida Gahn Hetrick. On January 15, 1949 in Oak Harbor, OH he married Norma Jean Peters, and she preceded him in death in 2005. Carroll was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, where he was active in both council and dart ball. He was a charter member of the Oak Harbor Lions Club, a member of the American Legion Post #114 in Oak Harbor, and a 4-H advisor. Carroll was also a member of farm council groups in both Ottawa and Sandusky Counties. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and he enjoyed fishing, camping, and bowling. Most of all Carroll loved spending time with his grandchildren. Carroll is survived by his son, Terry Brenda Hetrick of Oak Harbor, and daughter, Linda Tooman of Oak Harbor, 7 grandchildren, Tammy Matt, Joel, MatthewJamie, Kevin Stacey, Lindsay, Nicole Scott, and Stephenie Dan, 3 great grandchildren, David, Allison, and Amelia, brothers, Milton and Vincent Hetrick, and sister Thelma Nickel. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and daughters, Patsy Hetrick, Susan Steindam, and Joyce Hetrick, sisters, Mildred Lamalie, Dorothy Nickel, and Evelyn Hetrick. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Visitation will be Monday April 7, 2008 from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Lindsey, OH. Memorial contributions in Carrolls memory may be given to the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, or the American Diabetes Association.
