Carrie L. Waters (Hedberg, McMullen) born June 14th 1975 and died March 17th 2021. Carrie was a loving, creative, outgoing woman with a passion for fighting for what is right. She had a close relationship with our Lord and Savior. As a young woman, Carrie was always on the go, advocating for children with mental health issues, helping to run a school newspaper and student government at Owens Community College, being a single mother of three and even organized a team of people for 911 relief. She was an artist and had a passion for photography, music, fine arts and sewing. Capturing her family, weddings, natural disasters and the NYC 911 chaos landed her in the Toledo Art Museum for a gallery show. She had a love and talent for music, especially on the Trumpet. Carrie loved being outdoors fishing and camping. Family-oriented, she was a passionate wife, mother and friend. Later in life, Carrie suffered from many health issues causing her constant pain, limiting her mobility, and eventually lessening her cognitive ability. She faced these obstacles with strength and bravery, always trying to push herself to the limit of her capacity. Although we will miss her greatly, we celebrate the fact that she is now pain and worry free in the peaceful and loving arms of God. Carrie is survived by her husband Matt, twin daughters Melissa Atkinson and Cassidy Knobloch, son Michael, step-daughter Reighn, parents Louann Hedberg, Paul Hedberg, and Gary “Rusty” Hanson. As well as many other loving family and friends. A Memorial Celebration will be held at the Walker Funeral Home (5155 W. Sylvania Ave. Toledo, OH 43623) on March 31st, 2021 with visitation starting at 1PM with an informal service at 4PM and fellowship after until 7PM Hawaiian shirts and flower prints encouraged.
