Carrie Ann Lindesmith

September 30, 1980 — August 16, 2022

Carrie Ann Lindesmith, 41, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 30, 1980, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Karen (Hayes) Lindesmith Kapp and Dan Lindesmith. Carrie was a 1998 graduate of Genoa Area Local High School.

Carrie was a pharmacy technician for Omnicare/CVS, in Perrysburg Township until her health would not allow her to work. During her high school years, she was very active in band and softball. She loved softball from the moment she was able to pick up a bat and played all through high school. Carrie played percussion and could often be found drumming to the beat of the music.

Easygoing, fun-loving, hilarious, generous, were just a few words to describe Carrie, but there was so much more to her. She was a pillar of strength to all of those around her. She was a quiet person who had a deep love for her sister, whom she adored, and her nephews who referred to her as “Aunt Kiki.” They call her “The greatest aunt in the world.” Her dad lovingly called her “Squirt” her entire life, from toddlerhood to adulthood. Her relationship with her mom was something very special as Carrie struggled with the ups and downs of her illness. Her mom provided the strength to follow every opportunity to make Carrie’s life better. Carrie never complained. She knew her mom, dad, sister, stepdad, family, and so many friends were there for her.

Carrie loved traveling with family to places like Oklahoma, Hawaii, and Disney World. She enjoyed listening to music, going to the movies and Mud Hens baseball games and Notre Dame Football. She loved trying snacks from all over the world, was a lover of all carbs and chocolate, specifically Hershey Bars!

Carrie is survived by her parents, Karen & Gary Kapp, Dan & Becky Lindesmith, sister, Kelly Lindesmith and her wife, Deanna, nephews, Kai and Lennon Lindesmith, her cat, “Bodie,” stepsister, Tesa Hite, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving family members and special friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob & Donna Hayes, Loyd & Margie Lindesmith, and cousin, Jaclyn Dippman.

A celebration of Carrie’s life will take place on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:30 PM at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, followed by a memorial service at 6:30 PM. Interment will be private.
