Carolyn Marie Strope

Carolyn Marie Strope, age 66, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away November 12, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio due to Carcinoid Cancer. Carolyn was born in Toledo on November 21, 1941 to Raymond and Florence Kosch Cornelius. Carolyn is a graduate of St. Rose School, Perrysburg High School and Mercy School of Nursing. She was employed at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, CA. from 1973 1998. Carolyn also volunteered at St. Annes Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing organ and helping people in need. She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Tom Cheaney, Michele Strope, and Melissa Joel Green; Sons, Stephen Strope and Richard Strope; seven grandchildren; mother, Florence Kosch Cornelius, brother, Roland Lorrie Cornelius; sisters, Theresa Dahms and Ellen Mendieta. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Tom Cornelius. Family and friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee on Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 3-8 PM with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A memorial Mass will be held Monday at St. Rose Parish, Perrysburg, at 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that all donations be made to the Zebra House Fund. The Zebra House will be a place where family and friends can stay with Carcinoid Cancer patients while they receive treatment similar to the Ronald McDonald House. All contributions go toward building, maintaining and staffing the Zebra House and are tax deductible.
