Carolyn Sue Guthrie

On April 30th, 2026 Heaven gained an Angel. Carolyn Sue Guthrie, 80 of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away at Edgewood Manor Healthcare Center. Carolyn was born February 23rd, 1946 in Harlan County, Kenvir Kentucky to parents; Pauline and Julius Maddox Guthrie. Carolyn grew up in Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio. She graduated from Danbury High School in Lakeside, Ohio. Carolyn lived by the water on Lakeshore Drive in Port Clinton. She loved taking long walks by the lake, caring for the children in her family, cooking, gardening, animals (especially cats and dogs) and writing stories/poetry. She was also a strong believer in her faith; Carolyn was a member of Port Clinton Second Baptist Church; where she taught Bible School and attended in the daycare for many years. Carolyn was truly a light to all she met; Carolyn loved to make those around her laugh and smile.

She is survived by her sisters; Mary (Joe) Isbell of Port Clinton, Ohio, Martha (Tommy) Hammock of Sandusky, Ohio and countless nieces, nephews, great/grand nieces, great/grand nephews, in-laws and cousins/relatives from many states; including Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Florida and Tennessee.

Carolyn is joined in Heaven by her mother Pauline (Smith) Guthrie, father Julius Maddox Guthrie, older sister Glenda Joy Dusseau, younger brother Charles Edward Guthrie, Maternal Grandparents Estel and Maude Myrtle Jeanette (Parrott) Smith of Kentucky; Paternal Grandparents Bertha Savannah Lou'ana and Newt Guthrie of Alabama.

Her family would like to thank Edgewood Manor's amazing, warm hearted staff for all they do and Hospice Services for their kindness/compassion during this time.

A private service will be held for her sisters.

Carolyn will then be laid to rest with her mother at Riverview Cemetery in Port Clinton, Ohio
