Carolyn Bryant, affectionately known as “Granny” by the kids and “Carol” to everyone else, gained her wings on December 11, 2021, at the age of 76. Born to Gracie and George Marion on March 28, 1945, in Jellico, Tennessee. She was a proud Coalminer’s Daughter. Carol was the sweetest, kindest person. Her door was always open. Carol worked for the Golden Jade as a waitress for twenty-five years, where she gained a lot of friends. Carol married McKinley J. Bryant on June 15, 1973, and they remained together until his death in 2008. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard (Kim) Metroff, John Metroff, Timothy Metroff, Hope (Bart) Parish, Denise Roth, Ottum Gears, Charletta (Jesse) Hernandez, Sheliah (Larry) Kruzel; one sister, Waynetta Knapp, 31 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Carol was preceded in death by her husband McKinley, her parents, son-in-law, David Roth, grandson Daniel Bryant, five brothers and one sister. Friends will be received at Walker Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave. Oregon, Ohio on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, LaSalle, Michigan.
