Caroline E. Cox

Caroline Eva Cox, 90, of Port Clinton, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at Stein Hospice Inpatient Unit, Sandusky. She was born on January 7, 1929 in Port Clinton to Harry and Eva (Meek) Witt.  On July 1, 1956 in Williamsburg, KY she married John W. Cox, Sr. and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2008.  Caroline worked as a homemaker and worked as a waitress years ago at Bob Underwood’s Restaurant, Port Clinton.  Her greatest joy was her family and she especially loved her grandkids and great grandkids.  She enjoyed family cookouts, gatherings, and holidays together.  She enjoyed going to church every Sunday. Caroline is survived by her children, Jack Meyer, Becky (Kevin) Holcomb, Tina Cox, John (Sharon) Cox, Jr., and Terri Rose, 8 grandchildren, Dawn (Tony) Fleming, Danelle (Mike) Berkowitz, Kim (Rob) Medina, Shawn Kreager, Jolene (Tony) Raciborski, Melissa Rose, Melanie (Daniel) Wadsworth, and Lacey (Patrick) Meyer-Lyons, and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. Visitation for Caroline will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2019.
