Carole Ann Wessendorf Danko age 79 died peacefully at home Friday, Jan. 28th surrounded by her children. She was born April 25, 1931 in Toledo to Clarence and Selma Lyons Wessendorf. Carole was a graduate of Libbey High School and on July 15, 1950 married George Danko. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage until Georges death in 2009. Together they raised 4 children , Darlene William Smietanski, Kathleen Edwin Kane, Barbara Gary Rabbitt and George Amy Danko; grandchildren, Adam, Andrew and Thomas Smietanski, Daniel Constance, Joseph, Nathan and Michael Kane, Natalie, Mason and Grace Rabbitt, Leah and Samuel Danko; great-grand-daughter, Arienette Kane. Carole is also survived by her brother Richard Janice Wessendorf and sister-in-law, Betty Wessendorf. In addition to George and her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Wessendorf and sister, Lois Weeber. Carole had many interests including ballroom dancing, arts and crafts, crossword puzzles and hunting for treasures at flea markets. However, she was happiest when the family was all together. Family and friends may visit Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 3-8 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee where funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Fort Meigs Cemetery.
