CAROL J. ROMPF Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord, our Savior, suddenly on February 19, 2015 while visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sherry Rompf in Newport Richey, FL. Carol was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 25, 1937 to William J. & Dolly R. (Stiltner) Carpenter. She graduated from Woodward H.S. in 1956. She married Eric P. Rompf, Jr. on May 22, 1956 and they were married for 58 years. Carol was a devoted mother and grandmother who, has been an integral part of all of our lives. Carol enjoyed traveling to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan every summer, Las Vegas, Nevada during the fall and North Carolina during the winter months. Carol enjoyed numerous hobbies that included bowling, playing bingo and going to the casinos. For many years she was involved with the Hollandette Baton and Drum Corp, where she made many lasting friendships. Carol never knew a stranger, and touched many lives of those she has come into contact with. She acted as a second mother to many of her children’s friends. In addition to her husband, Eric, she is survived by her children, Michael Paul (Candy) Rompf; Mark Allen (Sherry) Rompf; Timothy Lee (Kim Estes) Rompf; James Pete Rompf; Cheryl (James) Growden and Carrie Sue Rompf; grandchildren, Ben Adams; Brandon (Tasman) Rompf; John A. Growden and finance Kim Parlette; Eric J. Rompf; Courtney N. Rompf; Whitnie Meller; Kaylee Rompf; Caleb A. Dixon; Olivia Rompf; Heather Bradley and Joshua Badyna; 7 great grandchildren with 1 on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews who she loved very much. She is also survived by her brothers, William (Gloria) Carpenter and David (Jewel) Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jennifer L. Rompf and brother, Benny Carpenter. Friends and family will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 10 am until time of service beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a charity of the donor’s choice.
