Carol C. Patera

Carol C. Patera, 74, of Perrysburg, OH died Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Mercy Medical Center Emergency Services in Perrysburg. She was born on Christmas Day in 1938 in Brunswick, OH to Dominick and Mary (Wisniewski) Pawlus and was married to John J. Patera in Brunswick on June 27, 1959. Carol was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg and was a graduate of Brunswick High School. Besides her husband, John, she leaves two sons, John M. (Beth) Patera of Dayton, OH, Michael A. (Sharon) Patera of Cleveland, OH; four daughters, Michelle R. (Rocky) Launder of Maumee, OH, Denise M. (Willie) Walker, Margie M.(Tim) Oakley and Carla J. (Scott) McDonald all of Perrysburg, OH; seventeen grandchildren, Jordan, Aleece, Kellin, Corbin, Devon, Lauren,Tara, Ryan, Daniel, Nathon, Willie Jr., Johnie, Timothy Jr.,Nicholas, Cody, Jessica and Morgan; four brothers, Frank, John, Ed and Walter Pawlus; four sisters, Dorothy Rice, Rose Piazza, Theresa Gill and Helen Mancuso. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Papp, Florence Honeycutt, Josephine Berdysz, Betty Bowen and Mary Haskins as well as a brother, Joe Pawlus. Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M., on Monday at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419-874-3133) where a Scripture Service + will be held at 7 P.M.. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Rose Church, 215 E. Front St. in Perrysburg. Burial services will be private. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
