Carol F Meyer

Carol Francis Meyer, 86, of Sylvania, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Sylvania. She was born in Toledo, OH to Frank and Florence (Skurzyn) Winzenried on June 28, 1937. She was lucky enough to meet the love of her life, Walter Meyer, Jr., at age 4, living just two houses away. They were married and spent 67 wonderful years together before his passing in 2023. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Carol worked for many years as a secretary for the Toledo Public Schools until retiring in 1995. She loved gardening and watching the colorful birds enjoy her beautiful yard. Carol and Walt were longtime members of Augsburg Lutheran Church, most recently Faith Lutheran Church. Always offering love and assistance to others, Carol will be missed as a kind, caring, and affectionate woman who loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her children, Jeffery (Debra) Meyer, Cheryl (Randall) Peace; grandchildren, Daniel (Dannielle) Meyer, Brandon (Caitlin) Fidell, Bradley (Felize) Domby, Jessica Meyer, Randall Domby, Kevin Domby; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Zoe, Preston, Amara, Abby, Hannah, Alex; and many extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband, Walt; she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Winzenried; and parents.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 3-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m. at Faith United Lutheran Church, 4543 Douglas Road, Toledo, OH 43613. The burial will follow in The Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Toledo Fireman’s Museum.
