Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on April 13, 2017. “Christmas Carol” was born on Christmas Day in 1945 to Elsie (Russell) and William E. Rodenhauser. She was raised solely by her mother. Carol graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1963. After graduation Carol became an administrative assistant and worked for several area companies. She also modeled professionally over the years. Carol became a realtor in 1987 and enjoyed building her career and making lasting friendships at Welles Bowen until retiring in 1999. Carol, always pulled together and impeccably dressed, never left home without her smile and sparkling blue eyes. Carol lived a full and active life despite being an insulin dependent Type I diabetic for 46 years. She battled breast cancer like a true warrior in 2013 and had been cancer free until being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in her bones in January of 2017. Despite these obstacles she never complained about her circumstances. She enjoyed duplicate bridge both in Toledo, Ohio and Naples, Florida where she would enjoy Marathon Bridge playing weekends with dear friends. In addition to bridge, her hobbies included making custom and intricate jewelry, detailed needlepoint, knitting and embroidery. Over the years she enjoyed entertaining and hosting many dinner parties. She could pull them off seemingly effortlessly. She is survived by her husband of over forty years, Donald “Don” Mac Ritchie, four children, Christopher Mac Ritchie (Jennifer), James Patrick “Pat” Falvey, Matt Mac Ritchie (Jennifer) and Robin Falvey Ayers (Jon); grandchildren, Madison, Maxwell, Wilson, Paige, Aiden, Avery, Abigail and Jonathan; brothers-in-law, Ronald “Ron” Mac Ritchie (Cheri) and Jim MacRitchie (Nanci Parker); nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, half-sisters, Evelyn and Mildred and nephew Christopher Holloway. Friends may visit the family on Friday, April 28 from 4-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. where services will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 10AM. Interment will immediately following the service. Those considering an expression of sympathy should consider the Susan G. Komen Foundation 3100 W.
