Carol J. Lewis

Lewis Carol Joann Nelson Carol J. Lewis, age 80, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Spring Meadows Extended Care Center. The daughter of Arthur and Mary Nelson, she was born December 25, 1929 in Toledo, OH. She was a 1947 graduate of Libbey High School and attended Bowling Green State University. Carol married Alvin on October 19, 1951. Her whole world was her family. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Carol and Alvin never missed an event their grandchildren were involved in. The highlight of her last summer was the opportunity to see her granddaughter Stacy play in the Jamie Farr Golf Tournament. Carol cherished the many family vacations to Myrtle Beach and Disney World. She will be missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Alvin; sons, Gary Gigi and Dale Carol Lewis; daughter, Kathy James Heil; grandchildren; Jennifer, Kelly, Bryan, and Sara Heil, Beth Tony Wysocki, Stacy, Janet, Jason and Scott Lewis; brother, Frank Mel Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Dee Nelson. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 3:00-7:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd. Funeral services will be held at Memorial Lutheran Church 3215 Douglas Rd Toledo, OH 43613 on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Toledo Memorial Park.
