Carol Ann Kozak

Carol Ann Kozak, 83, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Toledo Hospital. She was born in Toledo to Henry Edward and Ozie Marie (Morrow) Hessling on November 29, 1938. Carol married her beloved husband, Daniel Kozak, and they spent over 59 wonderful years together before his passing in 2019. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Worthy Matron in 1987 and 1990, Grand Rep to the state of Wisconsin. She enjoyed shopping anywhere she could find a bargain, traveling, sightseeing, sewing, social gatherings, keeping in touch with friends and family. She had a talkative soul and would swap stories with anyone willing to listen.

Carol is survived by her children, Paul Kozak; daughter, Pamela (Chris Heinze) Kozak; granddaughter, Kristi Fry; great-granddaughter, Tessa Kozak; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hessling; honorary grandson, Braden Heinze; and many other extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband, Daniel, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joseph E. Hessling.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 2 – 8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623, where an Order of the Eastern Star Service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to The Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Browning Masonic Community, or Lucas County Canine Care and Control.
