Carol J. Justen

Carol J. Justen, 54, of Monclova, OH passed away, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 11, 1953 in Toledo to Robert and Elizabeth Rapier Boden. Carol worked as an Administrative Assistant with the City of Maumee for the past 14 years. A water sports enthusiast, Carol enjoyed scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming. She also enjoyed gardening, hiking and being outdoors. Carol was one of the first female Maumee Elk members. She was a talented Dog Trainer, and won many awards and distinctions for her dog training. Carol received the Good Samaritan Award September 19, 1981, for saving a drowning man on Lake Erie. A loving, wife, mother, sister and friend, Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Thomas H. Justen, III who she married February 29, 1971 at Athena Air Force Base in Athens, Greece; son, Timothy R. Justen, II; sister, Mary E. Thomas Jones; sister-in-law, Debbie Dave Jaegle; mother-in-law, Alicemae Justen; nieces and nephews, Chad Teresa Jaegle, Alison Jason George, Justen Jaegle, Thomas Corky Jones and Jenny Brian Massey. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rachael Justen; son, Timothy R. Justen and granddaughter, Madison Ann Justen. Special thank you to one of her extraordinary caregivers and best friend, Laurie Laporta. Family and friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. Thursday in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
