Carol Froehlich Hussey

Carol Froehlich Hussey, age 76, of Holland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2017 at Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, CO. She was visiting daughter Kimberly and family and spent her last hours on this earth with her precious granddaughter. Carol was born December 22, 1940 to Edward and Emma Froehlich in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from Colerain High School in 1959, she attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio where she met Jim Hussey. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Education. After graduation, she began a career as a middle school math teacher in Cincinnati. She then married Jim on June 26, 1965 and moved to Connecticut. When the children arrived, she became a fulltime homemaker and mother. Carol was most proud of the family they raised. The family moved several times to follow Jim’s career: Connecticut, New Jersey, Illinois, Georgia, New York, Virginia and Ohio. She had fond memories and close friendships everywhere she lived. Her favorite hobbies were spending time with family, tending her flower gardens, playing cards with her canasta and bridge groups and theorem painting. She loved sending greeting cards to friends and relatives for their birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. She would send out hundreds of special occasion cards each year, every one with a personal handwritten note. She had a wonderful smile and contagious laugh. You couldn’t help but laugh with her. Carol adored her granddaughter Sarah Joy and shared stories and pictures with everyone. Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends. In addition to her loving husband of 52 years, James Jim Hussey, she is survived by her children, Kimberly (David) Holley, Stephanie Hussey, Todd (Victoria) Hussey; and 10-month old granddaughter Sarah Joy Holley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Louis and Emma Marie (Rothenbach) Froehlich. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00pm.
