Carol Ann Hepner, 55, of Fremont, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, in St. Charles-Mercy Hospital, Oregon. Carol was born January 11, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, to Harold C. and Mae Smith Hepner. She was a l970 graduate of Oak Harbor High School, and for 35 years she worked in direct care at the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston. Carol was baptized in St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Toledo and was a confirmed member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. She was active in the church, belonging to the Ruth Circle, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and had been a Luther League sponsor. Survivors include her mother, Mae, and twin brother, Carl Hepner both of Fremont. Her father and grandparents preceded her in death. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, followed by interment in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2008, with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in care of the family or to a charity of the donor
