Carol Ann Gruetter

Carol Ann Gruetter, age 65, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Detroit Avenue in Toledo. Born on August 27, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of the late Lester Gruetter and Barbara Hilt Gruetter.

A graduate of Woodmore High School, Carol dedicated 24 years of service to the dietary department at Bay Park Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. As one of the first employees hired when Bay Park Hospital opened, she leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and unwavering kindness. Carol was known for her selflessness—always placing the needs of others above her own—and her dry wit, which brought joy to those fortunate enough to know her. Her famed cabbage rolls and knack for crafting smiles were a testament to her warm and welcoming spirit.

In her free time, Carol found happiness in crocheting, camping, and cooking. She treasured moments spent sharing meals and laughter with her coworkers and was a true friend to all.

Carol is survived by her loving sister, Catherine Gladieux; her longtime companion, Wayne Claar, and his family, including Wayne's grandson, Eli, whom she adored. Preceded in death by her son, Shaun, and sister, Mary Griesinger and brother, Terry Gruetter. Carol now rests peacefully, reunited with loved ones gone before her.

Private graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Maumee, Ohio.

Contributions in her name are welcomed to Bay Park Hospital, honoring her dedication and impact over the years.
