Carol Elizabeth Fox

Carol Elizabeth Fox, age 78, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Elizabeth Scott Care Center in Monclova, OH. Carol was born July 18, 1935 in Toledo, OH to John and Helen Willis. She was a 1953 graduate of DeVilbiss High School where she was proud to be a Deviltree and an Usherette. Carol then attended the University of Toledo where she was a Pi Phi. She remained close with her Pi Phi sisters throughout the years playing Pi Phi bridge for over 25 years. She worked at Owens-Illinois as a secretary in the personnel department and later as Education Coordinator at the Toledo Botanical Gardens for 6 years- a job she truly loved. She very much enjoyed being a Toledo Museum of Art Ambassador and was to be the next president when an illness prevented her from fulfilling that role. Carol was a member of First Baptist Church for 72 years and of Epworth United Methodist Church for the past 6 years. She was a 17 year member of Highland Meadows Golf Club and a 20 year member of Stone Oak Country Club where she was a 9-Holer. She was active with the neighborhood garden club at Stone Oak and enjoyed playing tennis at the Courts of Sylvania. Carol was an avid University of Michigan fan and liked tailgating at the games. She also loved traveling and vacations. She was very involved with her children when they were young including Girl Scouts where she served as a troop leader. Carol deeply loved her wonderful family and adored her grandchildren. She was always very positive and upbeat; she could always make people laugh. Carol is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Son, Robert Kristi Fox; daughter, Lynne Daniel McCaughey; grandchildren, Matthew Fox, David Fox, Emma McCaughey, and Grace McCaughey. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be on Friday, from 2-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd.. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday at Epworth United Methodist Church, 3077 Valley View Dr. Ottawa Hills, OH 43615.
