Carol was born to Elsie (Rower) and Norman Klaus in Toledo. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended the University of Toledo. She also attended the Toledo Museum of Art where she developed her talent for interior design and she worked for many years in the Interior Design Studio at the Lion Store. Carol was a secretary at Teledyne, C.A.E, where she met the man she would marry. Carol and John were married on January 1959. They had a passion for foreign and classic cars including a 1955 Ford Thunderbird. They started the Maumee Valley Thunderbird Club in February 1977 and had the first meeting at their home in Old Orchard. Carol has traveled the world. Those travels have taken her to Scotland, England, Amsterdam, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and France. John and Carol enjoyed many cruises to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Alaska. Carol and John, their children, and grandchildren enjoyed shelling on Sanibel Island, Florida for over 50 years. They also enjoyed spending time at the family condo on Lake Erie and bike riding at the Metroparks. In the year 2000, the Susan B. Komen Race For the Cure was in celebration of her life as she was a five time cancer survivor. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brother Kent and her parents. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Sheryl (Paul) Favorite, Todd (Teri) Deindoerfer; grandchildren, Jared (Tiffany) Deindoerfer, Troy (Krista) Favorite, Erica (Mitch) Huss, Taylor (Tori Weidinger) Favorite, Justin Deindoerfer; and great grandchild Leah Deindoerfer. Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home (5155 W. Sylvania Ave) on Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 8:00pm with the Rosary being said at 7:00 pm. The funeral Mass will be at Gesu Catholic Church (2049 Parkside Blvd, Toledo, OH 43607) on Monday October 11, at 1:00 pm with interment following at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, Notre Dame Academy or St. Francis De Sales High School.
