Carol J. Carr

Carol Jean Carr, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 1, 2024, at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She was 67 years old.

Born on May 17, 1957, in Port Clinton, Ohio, Carol was the cherished daughter of Richard and Barbara (Nye) Bloom. She graduated from Port Clinton High School and went on to dedicate many years of her life to caring for others as a Nurse's Aide at Riverview Health Care Campus.

A devoted member of Family of Faith Church in Port Clinton, Carol found great joy and purpose in her involvement with the mission group and the church choir. Her faith and generosity were evident in all she did, from making personalized holiday cards for friends and family to crafting beautiful scrapbooks. Carol had a remarkable gift for remembering everyone’s birthdays and ages, and she took great pride in making the most delicious applesauce. Carol's love for her canine companion, Jack, was evident in the way she enjoyed their walks together.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles "Chuck" Carr; her siblings, David (Gail) Bloom, Barbara (Ken) Yoakum, Jane Bloom, and James (Emilee) Bloom; 16 nieces and nephews; 19 great-nieces and nephews; and her loyal dog, Jack. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Barbara Bloom.

Friends and family may be received from 9:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452. Pastor Ted Austin will preside over Carol’s funeral service beginning at 11:00am in the chapel following visiting hours. Interment will follow the service at Rusha Cemetery.
