Carol A. Hood, age 95, passed away at home with family on June 29, 2025. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 17, 1930, to Earle and Regina (Fournier) Cready. Carol was a graduate and class officer of St. Ursula Academy (1947). After working at the Diocese of Toledo offices and Owens-Illinois, she married her high school sweetheart Paul Hood. She is survived by daughters Kathleen (Sister Marie Kathleen SND), Karen (Oreste) Gallo, Colleen Hood, Connie (Mike) Schenk, son Kevin Hood; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Janet Hood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hood: daughter Kelly (Peter) Reynolds; parents; sisters, June (Edward) Masterson and Dorothy Fournier.
She was an active member of Christ the King Parish since its inception in 1952, sending all six children to get a faith centered catholic education. Her life was devoted to and filled with family and friends. Carol was a wonderful hostess, and weekends were always filled with social gatherings, card parties, and game nights. She enjoyed the opportunity to travel with her husband Paul, especially enjoying trips to Paris, Rome and Ireland, but her fondest memories were of family vacations on Sanibel Island.
She was a golf enthusiast, and an active member of Byrnewick (now Brandywine) and Sylvania Country Club ladies golf leagues.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 6 from 4-7pm at the Walker Funeral Home at 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, with prayer service at 6:30. Funeral Mass is on July 7 at 10:30am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, with visitation starting at 9:30am.
Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH. Luncheon to follow at Christ the King.
Memorials to: Christ the King Endowment Fund, Notre Dame Academy, St. Francis DeSales High School, or St. Ursula Academy.
