Carmen P. Izzi

Carmen P. Jerry Izzi, age 83, of Toledo, passed away August 2, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born September 26, 1932 in Toledo to the late Frank and Beatrice (Michalowski) Izzi. A proud patriot, Jerry honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. As a graduate of Scott High School he was employed primarily as a truck driver with Motor Express of Indiana. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed traveling to Disney World and Amish country, camping in his motor home, fishing, trains, and doing jigsaw and word search puzzles. He found his great joy in time spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be lovingly remembered for his kind, friendly and outgoing nature. Surviving are his wife, Luella (nee Cole) Izzi; children, Linda (Tony) Burnett, Lyle (Beverly) Scott, Lydia Lindsey, Teresa (Jay) Fair and Tony (Susan) Izzi; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sister, Cathy Thomas. Jerry was also preceded in death by brothers, Frank Junior and Richard Izzi. Family and friends are invited to visit in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
