Carlon Henry Jensen

June 9, 1945 — April 26, 2014

Carlon Henry “Butch” Jensen, 68, of Perrybsurg, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Carl was born on June 9, 1945 in Toledo, to the late Henry and Enid Jensen. He graduated from Eastwood High School, where he was an outstanding athlete. He went on to graduate from Stautzenberger College and then to serve four years in the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged in 1969. Carl spent a career that spanned 36 years at Owens Illinois. In 1999, he retired. After retiring, Carl decided to go back to work part-time at the Home Depot in the garden department and he also drove a school bus for Perrysburg Public Schools. He decided to retire “for good” in 2010. Carl enjoyed traveling, gardening, glass blowing, wood working, walking, golf, cycling, dining out and watching his only granddaughter, Aubrey, participate in her sporting events. Carl and his wife loved traveling to Arizona and southern California. They often spent winters in those locations. He always put his family first and had an incredible love for life. He was also a member of Zoar Lutheran Church. Carl will be dearly missed by Marguerite, his wife of 48 years, his daughters Holly Jensen (Bob Bennett) and Kelly Arndt and his granddaughter Aubrey Arndt. He is also survived by his sisters Janet Cochran and Ruth Recker (James); brothers Earl Jensen and George Jensen (Maureen) and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Healy and the caring and compassionate staff at Toledo Neurological Associates. Also, the family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of Hospice of NW Ohio and Visiting Angels. Their dedication and kindness over his final months were truly a blessing to the entire family. A private service was held with Pastor Timothy P. Philabaum officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the Witlzer-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg, OH. Condolences to the family may be made by visiting www.witzlershank.com. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions in Carl’s memory can be made to Hospice of NW Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551, Zoar Lutheran Church (Organ Fund) 314 E.
