Carlis W. Braden, Sr., age 65, of Toledo, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones at 11:36 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2020. He was born on a Friday, May 20, 1955, in Toledo to the late Carson and Elsie (Hawkins) Braden. Carlis worked in construction for many years and was a car enthusiast. Repairing and restoring cars was his passion and he also found great joy in fishing, especially in the State of Tennessee. Carlis was easy-going, straight-forward and funny. He was the protector of his family and had a "no nonsense" way about him that was appreciated and respected. He will also be remembered for his generous and giving nature. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda (maiden name: Seibers) Braden; children, Tracy Braden-Highfill (Eric), Crystal Braden, Stacy Braden and Carlis W. Braden, Jr. (Destiny); eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings, Judy Clouse (Dave), Tony Braden, Theresa "Cricket" Braden-Pinson (Terry), Carolyn Hoot (Kevin) and James Tipton; and special family members and friends who were very dear to his heart in Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue (west of Corey Road).
