Carlene Christensen

Carlene Calkins Christensen, age 83, of Monclova, OH passed away Friday, July 17, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 2, 1925 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Craig and Ethel Orr Calkins. Carlene was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved caring for children and provided in home day care for over forty years. She was a past member of the United Methodist Women and current member of Zion United Methodist Church, Toledo. The widow of John Christensen who passed away August 7, 2005, Carlene is survived by her daughter, Dawn Bill Ocheske and son, Steven Nanette Christensen; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Carlene was preceded in death by her brother, Craig Calkins. Family and friends may visit Monday from 3-8 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee. The family would like to thank the staff at Avalon by Otterbein for their loving care of Carlene.
