Carla J. King

Carla J. King, age 72, of Toledo, died October 13, 2015 at St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee. She was born February 18, 1943 in Toledo to the late Xa Jr. and Helen (Walter) Johnson. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School and Davis Business College, Carla was a secretary at the Toledo and Sylvania Moose Lodges for nearly 30 years. She was a member of Monroe Street United Methodist Church, and its Chapel Choir; Dendarah Court #10, LOSNA, PTakist Unit; and Order of the Eastern Star. Carla also enjoyed painting, creating with ceramics, and flowers. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Carl; step children, Luann King, Carl Bill King (Sue) and Jeffrey King (Sabine); siblings, Xa Johnson III (Traci), Walter Johnson (Rayneld) and Keith Johnson (Sue); brother-in-law, Don King (Phyllis); grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew King and Anna Kroyer; three great grandchildren; and nephew, Xa Johnson IV. She was also preceded in death by step daughter, Lorie Chitwood and nieces, Wellesley and Marisa Johnson. Visitation will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of prayer services at 7:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Private interment at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to either the Cystic Fibrosis or Muscular Dystrophy Foundation or the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children.
