Carla Jean Anderson

Carla J. Anderson, 67, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, after a lingering illness. She was born in Corona, CA on January 11, 1956, the daughter of Carl R. and Mary E. (Bruce) Anderson. After graduation from high school she went on to receive her registered nursing degree and for the next 30 years she dedicated her life to helping others.

Carla worked for many years at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus – M33 and at Fairview Hospital in the Pediatrics Unit. She had a special place in her heart for children and would never give up on helping them get better. Never giving up was a mantra she held to in her work and personal life. She was a loving mother and grandmother and friend whose heart was always set on doing and teaching what was right.

Carla is survived by her son, Steven Anderson and his wife Erika, grandson, Jaxson Reinhardt Anderson, granddaughter, Emma Jean Anderson, sisters, Mary “Denise” Anderson, Jo Ann Miller, and Mary Altman. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Matea Anderson, brother, Richard Anderson, and nephew, Rory Anderson.

There are no services scheduled but those wishing to honor Carla are asked to consider memorial donations to the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, 2801 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Cleveland, OH 44104 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
