Carl Raymond Ziehr

Carl R. Ziehr age 83 of Toledo, OH passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Regency Hospital. Carl was born in Toledo, OH on August 10, 1930 to Francis and Nellie Hart Ziehr. He was employed at Marathon Oil before establishing Ziehr Oil Company with his son, Bud. Carl was a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church for over 50 years; American Legion Post 0384, Whitehouse, OH and Glass City Motorcycle Club in Delta, OH. Carl served his country in the Korean War. He enjoyed working in his yard, traveling, woodworking but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jeanette M. Ziehr. Son, Carl Bud Lisa Ziehr; grandchildren, Amy, Ricky, Kerri, Leslee, Kevin, Michael and Adam. Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren; his 2 grand-dogs and a brother, Pat Ziehr. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and Jim Ziehr and his cousin, Robert Ziehr who Carl considered his brother. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Friday November 8, 2013 from 2-8 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday November 9, 2013 at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
