Carl Weyant

Carl R. WEYANT Carl R. Weyant passed away on November 25, 2013, at his home in Bowling Green, OH. Born in The Toledo Hospital, June 4, 1935, to F. Cyril (Skip) and Juanita (Brinnon) Weyant. He attended schools in Toledo. He was a Ground Control Approach operator during the German Occupation. He was proud to have served in the Air Force. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupational Medal (Germany). Carl was a die maker at Prestole Fasteners in Toledo, OH and retired due to disability from Ford Motor Co., Woodhaven Stamping Plant, MI, just short of 30 years of service. From 1988 to 1988 Carl was a part-time resident of N. Fort Meyers, FL and then moved to Palmetto, FL becoming a permanent resident. Carl was a member of UAW Local 387 of MI; a life Member of AACS Alumni Assoc. Inc., VFW Post 4230 in Gibraltar, MI, VFW Post 9963 in Walbridge; a Master Mason in Paragon Lodge 0788 in Oregon, OH; American Legion Post 309 and Moose Lodge 2117 in Florida and Ohio. Carl enjoyed golf, fishing, drawing and traveling. He visited many foreign countries and all but three of the United States. He attended the First Baptist Church in Palmetto, FL and enjoyed the services by Dr. Michael B. Parris. When up north he attended the first Baptist church of Bono, OH. with Pastor George Goodrich officiating and recently Cedar Creek Perrysburg, OH. He is survived by his mother who is 105 and two sisters, Marylin Dunlap and Mary Ellen (Tom) Molik. He was predeceased by his father, and brother, Bob. His love for his children was unending, always wishing he could do more for them. They are Kimberly A. (Dave) Douglas, Bruce K. Weyant, Kelly J. (Tom) Fowler and Jennifer L. Hall. He had 6 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews surviving. Carl cherished his relationships with his niece and nephew, Sue Mullin and B. Mike Stevens. Friends are invited to a Memorial service and dinner to be held on Friday, November 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the VFW Post 9963 in Walbridge. His final resting place will be in the Sarasota Veterans Cemetery in Florida. The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carl’s name be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to Team Red White and Blue for Veterans.
