Carl E. Swanbeck

SWANBECK CARL E. SR. Carl E. Swanbeck, Sr. 75 of Toledo passed away with his family at his side on Friday May 28, 2010 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Carl attended Central Catholic High School graduating in 1953. After graduation, Carl became employed by Conrail Railroad where he worked until retiring in 1991. Known by many as Pops, Carl had a quirky personality that defined his zest for life. Carl enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are his children Stephen Swanbeck, Jennifer Jeff Johnson, Cheryl Chris Clark, Carl E. Gloria Swanbeck, Jr. and Dennis Swanbeck; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and his girlfriend of many years, Penny Sipple. Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Monday from 2-8 PM where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 PM. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorials to a charity of the donors choice. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Jeffrey Maludy and staff for 20 years of exceptional cardiac care.
