Carl R. Newmister

Carl R. Newmister Sr. died peacefully in his home on June 2, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born to his late parents, Jack and Laverne (Threm) Newmister on January 17, 1940, and grew up in the Toledo area attending Waite High School. After graduation, Carl delivered papers and worked at A and P before Chrysler, where he worked for 44 years.

He married his wife Judith (Alford) Newmister in 1968 and they had 49 years together.

Known for being a hard-working, helping man, he has always been a constant for his family. He worked many hours of overtime to provide what they needed. He could fix things and was always busy looking for deals and would readily pass that information onto who needed it.

Carl loved to watch movies while munching on heavily buttered popcorn, one of his favorites.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Carl Jr., John, and Neil; and grandkids, Kyle, Jacob and Joshua. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Judith; and brothers, Charles and Leo.

Services will be private to honor Carl’s wishes. Walker Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel is assisting the family.
