Camille Elizabeth Priest

December 20, 1991 — November 18, 2018

Camille Elizabeth Priest, of Whitehouse, 26, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Camille was born to Lynn Marie (Toth) Priest and Jeffrey Jay Priest on December 20, 1991 in Toledo, Ohio. Her birth was a most joyous one in the midst of holiday magic, a spiritual magic that lasted her entire life. Camille touched the lives of so many people who were inspired by all that she overcame, and by her hard work and devotion to life. Her annual family birthday party was always the event of the Christmas holiday season. Camille attended Anthony Wayne High School where she formed many lifelong friendships with peers, teachers, and other faculty and staff members. Throughout her life, she developed a love for music and enjoyed musical activities and performances at school. Camille always enjoyed interacting and receiving attention from people she encountered. She graduated in 2013; afterwards she began attending a private, home based, adult special needs program with some of her former high school friends, directed by her former junior high special education teacher, Marsha Kott. There Camille enjoyed taking part in everyday living skills like baking, cooking, socializing, and helping with other various activities. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, love of God, love of music, and many books, including Harry Potter, The Doll People, The Land of Stories, and Nancy Drew. Camille was a member of Saint John XXIII Parish and enjoyed attending Mass. She found joy in her many friends there and in all the musical components of the Mass. She was known for singing when the Spirit moved her, regardless of the order of the Mass. She will also be remembered for her delightful laugh, beautiful smile, and great love for her brothers, other family members, and many, many friends. During her lifetime she traveled with her family to vacation destinations including Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Indiana, and twice to Hawaii. Following an adverse reaction to infant immunizations, Camille’s medical care had to be managed by her family and many medical specialists. Her family is very appreciative of the tender care and support given to her by many physicians and nurses over the years, but most recently from Dr. Emile Klada and Dr. Ahmad Abdelwahed, and the entire medical staff at the Toledo Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Camille is survived by her parents, Lynn Marie and Jeffrey Jay Priest; siblings, Collin Nicholas Priest and Evan Toth Priest; grandparents, Andrew D. and Marie E. Toth, and Ruby Ann Priest; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Camille was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Jay Priest. Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint John XXIII, 24250 Dixie Highway, Perrysburg, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 A.M., with Father Herb Weber officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in support of Camille’s love of God and her faith to Saint John XXIII parish.
