Born May 16, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio to Clarence and Dorothy Taft. Married the love of his life Frances on September 28, 1963 in Swanton. He worked his whole life. McNeil Chevrolet as a detailer, E & G Disposal, owned Speedy Disposal, and retired from Johns Manville in 2000 after working for 30 years. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Dorothy Taft; mother-in-law: Virginia Meyer; father-in-law: Charles O’Connell; step father-in-law: Ernest J. Meyer; sister: Louise Taft; and sisters-in-law: Donna Taft and Tina Clark. Survived by his loving wife: Frances Taft; children: Theresa Hartzell, Tracey McMahan, Todd (Alicia) Taft, and Toni Clark; siblings: Virginia (Donny) Wise, Carl Taft, Phyllis (Ed) Ray, Richard (Carol) Showman, Clarence (Paula) Taft Jr., Charles (Cathy) Taft, Lisa (Ken) Smith, and Dorothy Meyer; twelve grandchildren and one great grandson. Friends may gather from 1:00p.m to 2:30p.m on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419)865-8879. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Terry Smith officiating.
