Bryce H. Mcmullen

Bryce H. McMullen, 94, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, at St. Clare Commons in Perrysburg. Bryce was born, April 18, 1921, to Charles B. and Lille C. (Haynes) McMullen in Tarkio, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy as a flight instructor during World War II. He married Eileen M. Steiner on April 29, 1944 and she survives. Bryce earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and went on to earn his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University. He worked as the Director of Research for Glidden Paint retiring at the age of 64. After retirement, Bryce received his brokerage license and worked for T. Rowe Price. Bryce was an avid Ohio State football fan and loved listening to jazz music, especially Duke Ellington. Along with the love of his life for 71 years, Eileen, Bryce is survived by his daughters, Karen (Mark) Freeman of Perrysburg, OH and Constance (Paul) Carpenter of Nicholasville, KY; grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Bultman, Bryce (Mariya) Carpenter, Emily Freeman, Thomas Freeman and Charlotte Freeman and great-grandchildren, Lucas and Katherine Bultman. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, C. Haynes McMullen and sister, S. Catherine Craig. Services for Mr. McMullen will be private. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) Memorial contributions may be made in Bryce’s name to the Salvation Army National Headquarters, P.O. Box 269, Alexandria, VA, 22314.
