Bruce Alan Demers

Bruce Alan Demers, Sr., age 92, our beloved patriarch, died March 28, 2017 at The Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. He was a longtime resident of Ottawa Hills. Bruce was born February 1, 1925 in Saginaw, MI to the late Elmer and Minnie (Dietrich) Demers. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Patricia Alice (Roth) Demers in 2014; and a son, Bruce Demers, Jr. in 2015. Bruce served in the the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School and the University of Toledo and was employed at Linver Kripke in Toledo for more than 20 years. He retired as vice president in 1984. Bruce was a member of Hampton Park Christian Church and will be fondly remembered for the smile he always offered to everyone he met. He is survived by his children, Pamela (Harlan) Niehaus of Charlotte, NC, Susan (James) Peppers of Ottawa Lake, MI and Timothy (Sharon) Demers of Clearwater, FL; ten grandchildren; and twenty five great grandchildren. There will be no public visitation and burial will be private at Toledo Memorial Park. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
