Bruce “Bud” E. Johnson, 70, passed away on March 3, 2025, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Born on September 14, 1954, in Fostoria, OH, to John and Dareatha Johnson, Bud was known for his unique handyman skills and love for working with his hands. He was employed with Hunt-Wesson for over 20 years and later retired from the Andersons. Bud married Brenda Hughes on February 25, 1978.
Bud had a knack for crashing into mailboxes while driving, making breakfast on the weekends, and spending time in his garage. He had a passion for cars, trucks, and fishing, and was a diehard fan of the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Guardians. His family will fondly remember his squinty eyes, smile, goofiness, mustache, love for kids, hard-working nature and his “nub” of an index finger from a table saw accident. He loved ice cream, cheese balls, and pudding.
Bud’s family will miss the hum of his oxygen, the loud TV, his love for his family, and his willingness to help others whenever he could.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Johnson; children, Billie-Jo, Beth Ann, and Brandon (Becky); grandchildren, Wesley, Anthony, Alison, and Jessy; great-grandchildren, Kaden, River, and Colson; siblings, Carol, Donna, Gloria, Patty, Jimmy, Larry, and Donald; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, OH 43537. Services will be private.
