Brian Edward Stavermann, resident of Maumee, Ohio, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, April 10 after a 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Brian’s steadfast faith in the Father sustained him throughout his toughest fight and as well as his life.
Brian was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Bill Stavermann and Carolyn Stavermann. Growing up in West Chester, Ohio he spent his time playing hockey, riding dirt bikes, racing BMX bikes, restoring cars with his dad, shopping for antiques with his mom, playing sports with his brother and their friends before graduating from Lakota High School where he was on the high school power lifting team, an activity that remained an integral part of his life.
Upon graduation, Brian entered the Army reserves where he enlisted for 8 years and was honorably discharged.
Brian and Charlotte spent their first fifteen years together lovingly restoring Charlotte’s childhood home and going on antiquing adventures throughout southern Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, looking for the perfect decor and furniture to complement their turn of the 20th century home.
Together, they spent countless hours in the backyard. Brian created an oasis with a stone-built pond and waterfall that was connected by a stream, and a gazebo that was accessed by a stone bridge over the stream which they enjoyed for years.
Brian loved to dream big- his creativity knew no bounds and made him a jack of all trades. He channeled his creative energy into a career when he started his landscape and hardscape company Go Green Outdoors. Nothing brought him more joy than bringing his customers’ ideas and wishes to life through the designs he created for their outdoor spaces. From decks, to patios, decorative walls, and seating spaces, to flora of all kinds, recontouring lands and more, Brian created a panoramic vista.
In the lawn care side of the business, he implemented a level of care to his customers that exceeded industry standards. For him, it wasn’t just mowing, it was total lawn care. His motto was: “This is my reputation, this is who I am.”
While his step-daughters were growing up, he took great pleasure in supporting and helping them succeed in their activities, playing and joking around, and teaching them practical skills they would need in life.
Brian is survived by his wife of 23 years, Charlotte Brady Stavermann, step-daughters: BethAnn (Andy) Lawrence, Diana (Andy) Rankin, Jessica (Adam) Keppeler, his father Bill Stavermann, his mother Carolyn Stavermann, his brother Scott (Becky) Stavermann, grandchildren: Emma, Jesse, and Isaac Lawrence, Sami Rankin, Makayla, Adryan, Gretchen, and Madalyn Keppeler, niece and nephew Morgan and Dylan Stavermann.
A private service with family will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Toledo Humane Society in Maumee, Ohio or The Toledo Botanical Gardens.
