Brian E. Little (February 7 1956 - August 1 2026)


Brian E. Little of Maumee Ohio passed away August 1, 2026 at Perrysburg Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a brief stay.


Brian was born February 7, 1956 in Maumee Ohio to Richard and Catherine (Fetcher) Little. He grew up in Maumee and attended St. Joseph Grade School. After moving to Toledo he attended St. Mary's Grade school and he graduated from Woodward High School in 1974.


Brian graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. He then worked at Mercy Hospital in Toledo Ohio as a Critical Care Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit for several years.


He further advanced his education by obtaining an advanced nursing degree and became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). As a CRNA, Brian worked at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, his career spanned there for over 35 years. He mentored countless students in anesthesia and shared his immense knowledge and expertise with all.


Besides anesthesia, Brian 's other longtime passion was sailboat racing. He was a member of the North Cape Yacht Club for over 40 and was a very accomplished sailor.

He participated in many races one of which was the Mills Trophy Race. Brian was a " Mills Trophy Race Master" sailing in the Lake Erie Mills race 35 times!

His colleagues would comment " if it was nighttime and weather conditions were rough, you would want Brian on your boat". His tactical skills were unmatched.


He also participated in the Green Island race, Commodore Perry race, Mid -Channel race and many more. He especially loved North Cape Yacht Club's Wednesday night races that he most always attended.


Brian also had a love for animals. He loved bird watching and owned many west highland terriers.


Brian was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Peg , brother Keith Little and sister-in law Mia Little.

He is survived by his sister Melynda Little of Kansas City Missouri, his nephews Jeremy Little of Thomasville Georgia, Austin Little of Captain Cook Hawaii and his niece Ariel Costa of Boston Massachusetts along with their children.


Also surviving him is his significant other, Linda Wozniak of Ottawa Lake Michigan and lifelong friend, Cindy Kasperek of Sylvania Ohio.


He leaves behind his two adorable west highland terriers Gertie and Elliot.



Brian will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion for human life and his love of storytelling in teaching others.


Family and friends may visit Maison -Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Friday, August 14 from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, August 15at 10:30AM at St, Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee followed by a luncheon at the Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
