Brian J. Beard

Brian J. Beard, age 64, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away at his home on June 17, 2025. Brian was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on March 6, 1961, to Edward and Carolyn (Risch) Beard.

Brian worked at Signature Label as a machinist/mechanical engineer for 25 years, before retiring. He loved his four dogs: Molly, Milly, Minny, and Misty. He enjoyed taking Caribbean cruises with his family, and one of his favorite events was attending the Indy 500 race with his dad, brothers and uncles as an annual tradition for many years. Brian was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan and loved restoring his 1978 Corvette, 25th Anniversary Edition.

Brian was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where he served on church council and played on the dartball team. He was also an advisor for the Portage Mohawks 4-H club.

Brian is survived by his daughter, Carrie Jo Beard of Columbus, stepsons Andrew Redick, Benjamin Redick and Ryan Redick. Siblings, Steven (Lenda) of Jacksonville, FL; Denise (Dennis) Woolley of Oak Harbor; Bruce (Trina Monak) of Fremont; Mark of Fremont; Scott of Graytown, and significant other, Reta Ontko and her children Mark, Jessica, Robert and Zech. He is also survived by his former wife, Sherry (Laughlin) Leech and many nieces, nephews and family friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his dad, Edward, and wife Mary (Redick Felder) Beard.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, any humane society, or a charity of donor’s choice.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water Street, Oak Harbor. Funeral service for Brian will be conducted by Pastor Becky Bolander at 11 am on Monday, June 23, 2025, with visitation starting at 10 am, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor SE Road, Oak Harbor. The family requests that guests wear your favorite Hawaiian or bright colored shirt, or Ohio State gear in honor of Brian.

Interment will follow the service at Roose Cemetery in Salem Township, OH.
