Brian K. Auler, 51 of Columbus, Ohio, and formerly of Curtice, Ohio, died Monday, October 21, 2013, in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Oregon, Ohio, on May 30, 1962, to Harold J. and Beverly J. Shields Auler. Brian was a 1980 graduate of Genoa Area Local Schools and attended the University of Toledo, where he received his degree in Business Administration in 1984. He received the Pacemaker Award from the UT College of Business for his hard work and dedication to his field of study. Brian was currently the business manager for Whos Who of America-Ohio in Columbus. He had worked for the accounting firms of Derkin Wise and Ernst Young while in Toledo. He had also worked for Price-Waterhouse in Columbus and the Truck One Co. of Newark, Ohio. Brian was well known in the comic book and arts communities. He previously owned the former Silver King Comic Store in Columbus and was very involved with the Ohio Arts Council in Toledo and Columbus. Survivors include his mother, Beverly Auler of Curtice, brothers, Donald Anna Auler, Curtice, Thomas Auler, Portsmouth, VA, David Auler, Curtice, sisters, Donna Steve III Varga, Millbury, Rebecca Auler, Port Clinton, Lori Jo Auler, Genoa, Joyce Auler, Toledo; eight nieces and nephews and one great-nephew. Also surviving is his close friend, Scott Gallaway and his family from Columbus. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Harold Auler, niece, Tracy Varga, and great-nephew, Ethan Varga. A funeral service for Brian will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2013, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. Interment will follow in the Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013. The family suggests that memorials in Brians name be directed to the Genoa Branch Library, 602 West St. Genoa, OH 43430; or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
