Brent Martin Karchner

Brent Martin Karchner passed from this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born on July 5, 1959 to Martin and Louise Mizer Karchner in Toledo. Brent was a lifelong resident of south Toledo graduating from Maumee High School and the University of Toledo. He began as a management trainee at Cooper Tire, subsequently Cooper Standard Products, in Bowling Green, Ohio, working there for over 30 years. Brent was a confident, principled and fair individual who could always be counted on to do the right thing. He was a private, compassionate and generous man who helped many without the need for recognition or anything in return. Brent had a soft spot for helping kids, and over the years enjoyed coaching many youth sports teams, most recently with Maumee Youth Football. Brent was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, brother Mark Kim Karchner, niece, Kendall Karchner and nephews Brendan and Evan Karchner who he loved very much. He also leaves behind many friends and relatives. The family will receive guests at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Internment will be private at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those wishing to make memorial contributions to consider the Maumee Schools Foundation, Maumee Youth Football or Maumee Little League.
