Brenda L Hall, 69, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Toledo Hospital. Brenda was born on Aug. 10, 1955, to Roy and Doris (Roberts) Barnes in Flint, MI. The family made its way to Temperance, MI where Brenda attended Bedford High School.
Brenda was an avid bowler up until about 2004 when health issues forced her to quit. She was a member of the Queens Traveling Bowling League. In 2000-01, after the Greater Toledo Bowling Association opened their Championship Tournament to Women, she shot a 753 actual score to become the first woman to win a Singles Championship. It was through Bowling, Brenda met the love of her life, Vernon Vogt - they would spend 35 years together. Besides bowling, Brenda and Vern developed a mutual interest in genealogy and had developed an extensive family tree.
Brenda loved her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Granny. She loved watching them compete in all their sports activities, as well as all their many school functions. She loved playing the word game Boggles and other family members spent many evenings trying to beat her. Because she had a serious lung disease, she couldn’t do too much outside the home the past few years, so she started photographing “her birds”, deer and other animals in her backyard. She would often sit outside for hours taking hundreds of photos. At night she would edit them and then publish some of her favorites to Facebook the next morning. She was a very caring and loving individual.
Besides her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Barnes and sister, Lynda Wardrop. She is survived by Vern and three sons, David Hall, Randy (Matasha) Hall and Michael Hall and a stepson, Brian (Jodi) Vogt, Five Grandchildren: Anthony Hall, Bryant Hall, Blake Hall, Chase Hall and Mila Vogt. Also surviving are a brother, Rusty Barnes, and four sisters, Diane Young, Debbie (Curt) Snapp, Patti Cranker, and Tammy (Ricky) Johnson.
Because she would want all her family and friends to enjoy their Christmas Holidays, the services will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH 43623 on Monday, January 6, 2025. Visitation starts at 4 pm with the Service starting at 7pm.
