Branch H. Colvin, Sr.

Branch H. Colvin, Sr. 84, of Curtice, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in St. Charles-Mercy Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Branch was born in Johnson County, Kentucky on July 16, 1923 to Samuel F. and Julie J. Blanton Colvin. He married Anna M. Baldwin in Kentucky on March 29, 1947, and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2005. Branch was a boiler Maker for many years working out of Local #85, Toledo, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII and a member of the United Baptist Church of Stoney Ridge in Carey, Ohio. Branch enjoyed gardening in his spare time and had a real green thumb when it came to tomatoes. Survivors include his children, Polly Ann Coffman, Curtice, OH, Branch Colleen Colvin, Jr. of Oregon, OH, Daniel A. Pamela Colvin, Bellevue, OH, Samuel L. Kathy Colvin, Toledo, OH, John A. Jodi of Elmore, OH, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and brothers, Douglas, Camden, OH, and Chester of Springsboro, OH. Branch was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Anna, sisters, Virgie Colvin, Lexie McCarty, Kathleen Sparks, Anna Rae Williams, Luella Richardson, and brothers, Virgil, Sanford, Warner, John, Walter, Ora, James, and Samuel. Funeral services for Branch will be conducted at 10 AM, Saturday, May 10, 2008 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Genoa, OH. Interment will follow in the Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, OH. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 1-8 PM on Friday, May 9, 2008.
