Bonnie Lind Dowling-Demars

Bonnie Lind Dowling-DeMars, 59, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 at her home after a courageous battle cancer. She was born May 10, 1948 at The Toledo Hospital to Worth G. and Betty L. Breed. She attended Roy C. Start High School when the school opened and was part of the first four-year graduating class of 1966. In the early 1980s she obtained her license to sell real estate. Also gifted in retail, Bonnie excelled in sales and management. She often said the greatest accomplishment of her life were her two children. Bonnie loved to crochet, read Danielle Steele novels, and do word search and Suduko puzzles, all while drinking iced tea at her favorite restaurants. Her favorite pastime of all was shopping. She was a force to be reckoned with, whether trying to get a bargain or fighting for something she believed in. Bonnie died as she lived, on her own terms. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Carrie Lind Arndt, Carries husband Chad, and Chads daughter, Paige; son, Troy P. Dowling, who has spent the past months caring tirelessly for his mother; brother, Ronald W. Breed and his wife, Cathie. She is also survived by a niece, nephews, and many close, lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Worth and Betty Breed; brother, Carlton L. Breed; and husband, Ronald J. DeMars. Our family extends special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Moshir Khalil for his expertise and compassion and to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the wonderful care they provided in her final days. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-9:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
