Bonnie Lou Dalgo

December 16, 1940 — June 21, 2024

Bonnie Lou Dalgo, AKA Mimi, passed away June 21, 2024 at Sunset Village at Otterbein in Sylvania, OH under the care of Ahanti Hospice. Bonnie was born December 16, 1940 to Claire and Joseph Lengel in Toledo, OH. Bonnie graduated from Whitmer High School in 1958. After skipping school to go fishing and going to the racetrack with her father, she met and eventually married Milton Dalgo. They relocated to Chales Town, WV, had 2 daughter, Denise Lynn & Darlene Jo. They traveled a lot due to Milton being a thoroughbred horse jockey. After divorcing and moving back to Toledo, Bonnie worked various jobs including Kings Cove Restaurant, Jeep and multiple bars where she met many, many friends, whom she remained close with over the years.

She never met a stranger and loved to tell corny jokes. (do you know the score??) Always had a smile on her face, but don’t dare cross her. She’s been known to punch a customer or two. Feisty doesn’t even begin to describe Bonnie. Always the life of the party, especially her birthday parties that she insisted we throw every year. She loved just being with people.

She is survived by her sister, Debbie Lengel; daughters, Denise Gorrell (Doug) & Darlene Dalgo (Roy). Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Alysia Dalgo, Courtney Gorrell, Kaitlyn Gorrell, Dylan Dumkow and Jessica Robbins (Frank). She was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren, Sammie, Allie & Bradley Robbins. Also Many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Carol Oestriech and Joey Lengel.

Per her request, she has donated her body to science and will be cremated. She absolutely did not want a funeral and has long talked about her “Red Solo Cup Going Away Party”. It will be held Sunday, July 14th from Noon until 4:00 pm at Magdalena’s Bar and Grille, 1955 W. Alexis Road, Toledo. Everyone is welcome to come and have a joke or two lined up, as you know, she’d be telling them with a Black Velvet in hand. The more, the merrier.

The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Sunset Village at Otterbein and Ashanti Hospice. Your care and dedication to Bonnie over the past year has been amazing. You made her smile every day.

Any donations can be made to Otterbein Ashanti Hospice & Palliative Care, 4020 Indian Rd. A, Toledo, OH 43606.
