Bonnie Jean Carle, 83, of Whitehouse, Ohio, peacefully passed away in the early hours of Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on May 16, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, to her late parents, Chester C. and Florence A. (King) Carle, where she grew up alongside her two brothers. From grades 1-8, Bonnie attended St. Mary’s School and then graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1958. She began her professional career working for Catholic Chronicles in the newspaper department. Eventually she took a different path and began what would amount to a 30 year-long career with Owen’s Corning. She was a corporate trainer for the company and retired in 1995.
In her spare time, Bonnie was an avid reader and always gravitated towards mystery books. She loved to travel with one of her favorite vacation spots being Houghton Lake in Michigan. She was quite the collector of glassware and had a special love for cats all throughout her life. She was instantly likeable when someone first met her, alongside having a good sense of humor with a big heart. She made many dear, lasting friendships with many different people. She loved playing cards, going out to a restaurant and the movies, or simply spending time with her friends from the TCCYA (Toledo Council of Catholic Young Adults) that she got involved with years ago. These friendships have truly lasted the test of time. Bonnie was also very close with her brother and all of her nieces and nephews. She will affectionately be remembered as a woman who was sincerely loved by all of those she impacted.
Bonnie is survived by her brother, Richard (Melody) Carle; nieces and nephews, Nick Carle, Heather (Eric) Walters, Mike, Jr. (Kina) Carle, Brandi (Matt) Birr; 8 great nieces and nephews; sister in-law, Linda Carle; and all of her dear friends and TCCYA girls. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Carle.
All are welcome to gather for Bonnie’s Celebration of Life at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Bonnie.
