SCHOENROCK Boneta E. Bonnie Boneta E. Bonnie Schoenrock, 82, of Toledo, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at Kingston Care Center, Sylvania. Born in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada to Elmer and Gladys Belknap, Bonnie earned her nursing degree at Highland Hospital Nursing School in New York. It was there that she met the love of her life, Dr. Kenneth Schoenrock, and they were married in Lyndonville, NY on June 17, 1945. Ken and Bonnie eventually moved to Toledo where they raised their three children. Bonnie was an excellent homemaker and mother, as well as a very generous person. She donated many years as a volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Bank as well as for Mobile Meals from whom she recently received a commendation for her years of service. She was also active in the PEO Group, an organization that sponsors educational opportunities for women. A very spiritual person, Bonnie was a long time member of Washington Congregational Church where she participated in the Bible Study Group. Bonnie also had a wonderful sense of humor that she maintained even with her compromised health in recent years. Bonnie and Ken both enjoyed their special cottage on Lake Chandos in Ontario, especially in their retirement years. When her husband was sick prior to his death, Bonnie took care of him at their home. Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Kenneth Schoenrock in 1994 and her brother, Stewart Belknap. She is survived by her children, Judith of Toledo; Dr. Gary Schoenrock Marianne of Scottsdale, AZ, and Denise Munto of Massillon, OH; grandchildren, Lindsay Schoenrock, Alan Schoenrock, and Erin Munto; sister, Betty Pirko of Ithaca, NY, brother, Murray Belknap Dorace of Rochester, NY, and sister-in-law, Jan Belknap of Palm Springs, CA. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. A Memorial Service will take place at Washington Church, 3925 W. Central Ave., on Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. Don Fothergill will officiate. Private burial will precede at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alzheimers Assn. or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to extend special appreciation to all Bonnies caregivers, especially Earlean Gray, the staff at Kingston Residence Memory Care, and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
