Blanche E. Kohli, 95, of Oak Harbor, died in her home Wednesday afternoon, August 3, 2011. She was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to William M. and Mary Hunsche Gulau on July 6, 1916. On February 15, 1941, in Port Clinton, Ohio, she married Donald R. Kohli, who preceded her in death October 22, 1996. Blanche was a homemaker and had worked for seven years as a checker at Standard Products until 1941; she worked as a payroll clerk for 14 years at Erie Army Depot and had also worked for the Ottawa County Exponent. Blanche was a lifetime member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, a member of the Order of Eastern Stars #133 in Fremont, the AFGE, and a charter member of the V.F.W. Post #8732 Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her sons, James R. Bobbi Kohli of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Donald W. Mary Lou Kohli of Millbury, and daughter, Marilyn L. David Massie of Port Clinton, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and special friends, John and Cindy. Her parents, husband, a grandchild and brother, Warren H. Gulau, preceded her in death. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor; the V.F.W. Auxiliary will hold a service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011, in the funeral home with interment to follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials for Blanche to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449; or Stein Hospice, 1200 N. Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
