Blanche Goney

Blanche Goney, 90, of Genoa, died early morning on Monday, December 11, 2017, at Parkcliffe Community at Northwood. Blanche was born September 16, 1927, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Palkovich) Gibson. On December 16, 1944, in Brownsville she married Sherman R. Goney and he died October 31, 1981. In addition to being a homemaker, Blanche had worked at Burndy Electronics, Jobst Industry and Hirzels Canning before retiring in 2004. She was a member of Mainstreet Church in Walbridge. Her favorite pastimes were taking long walks and line dancing. Blanche is survived by her son, Sherman Goney (Diane); grandchildren, Kimberly A. Mitchell (E.J. Lorenc), Jeff S. Mitchell, Shelly M. Mitchell-Taylor (Greg), Christie M. Mitchell, Joseph A. Goney (Malissa) and Chad R. Goney; and eleven great grandchildren. Her parents, husband and daughter, Joyce Mitchell, preceded her in death. A private graveside service will be held in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury. Memorials for Blanche may be given to the Alzheimers Association, 2500 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615; or the American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Dr. Suite B, Perrysburg, OH 43551. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, has assisted the family with arrangements.
